AI Meditation: How Zenvy Writes a Session for What You Feel

An AI meditation is a guided meditation whose text is written by an artificial intelligence from what you describe, instead of being picked from a library of recorded sessions. In Zenvy you say in a few sentences how you are doing, by typing or out loud; less than a minute later a 5, 10 or 15 minute session starts, read by a synthetic voice. It did not exist before your message, and tomorrow's will be different.

What the AI does

The AI does two things: it writes the text of your session, and it reads it out loud. In between, six steps, in this order.

  1. You describe how you feel

By typing or out loud, in one sentence or ten. A voice message is first transcribed into text, automatically.

  2. A safety check reads the message

It sorts it into four levels: no distress, mild distress, moderate distress, crisis. In a crisis case no session is generated: the app shows a help line for your country instead.

  3. A session plan is drafted

Four phases: welcome, breathing, body awareness, return. The plan spreads the length you chose across those four moments.

  4. The text is written phase by phase

Each phase is written with the context of the previous one, from your message, the goals in your profile, your emotional check-in of the day and the theme of the day.

  5. The text is read by a synthetic voice

The voice you picked, Hélène or Marc. They are cloned from reference recordings, not screen-reader robot voices.

  6. You listen

Audio starts arriving while the rest is still being read: the session begins in under a minute, with a background sound if you want one.

What the AI does not do

A meditation written by an AI is still a meditation, not care. Here, explicitly, is what Zenvy does not do.

  • No diagnosis. The app does not tell you what you have, and does not classify your state as a disorder.
  • No medical advice, no treatment recommendation, no promise of recovery.
  • It does not replace psychological support or the opinion of a health professional.
  • It never quotes your message word for word. Your sentences are not read back to you: they are used to write the session, not to fill it.
  • It does not use your emotional descriptions for advertising, and never sells them.

The limits, stated plainly

The safety check can be wrong in both directions: flagging distress that is not there, or missing real distress. The written text can miss a nuance of what you described, or land on the wrong tone. And a session generated on demand does not replace human support. If a session disappoints you, a low rating in the app lets you redo it taking your written feedback into account.

How a session is written

A Zenvy session is not a generic text with your first name dropped into it. Four things go into writing it.

Four phases, a length you choose

Welcome, breathing, body awareness, return. You pick 5, 10 or 15 minutes, and the budget of words and silence is shared across the phases accordingly.

Your message of the day

This is the main signal. What you describe drives the tone, the pace and the images of the session, without ever being repeated as is.

Your profile and your check-in

The goals you picked at sign-up and your emotional check-in of the day refine how the message is read. They complete it, they do not replace it.

The theme of the day

Every day has its theme and its approach, the same for everyone: it is the angle from which the session addresses what you are living, and it is why two days do not feel alike.

Two voices, Hélène and Marc. Two languages, French and English: the session is written and read in the language of the app, with no translation step in between.

Listen to a sample

These are the two samples the app plays when you choose your voice. Nothing is downloaded until you press play.

Real sample of the Hélène voice, as she reads your sessions (21 s).
Real sample of the Marc voice, as he reads your sessions (16 s).

Your emotional data

What you write or dictate is used for one thing only: writing your session of the day. Those descriptions are never sold, and never used to target you with advertising.

Generating a session means sending your message to technical providers: a generative AI provider for voice transcription and text writing (OpenAI), and a GPU compute host for speech synthesis (RunPod). They are named, with the data involved, in the privacy policy.

You can delete your account and the associated data directly from the app, without writing to us.

Zenvy is not a medical device

Zenvy is a well-being app. It is not a medical device, it makes no diagnosis, and it replaces neither treatment, nor psychological support, nor the opinion of a health professional.

The distress detection described above is a help, not a safety net: it can produce false positives as well as false negatives. If you are struggling, talk to a professional.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free meditation app?

It depends on what you are looking for: a large library of recorded sessions, a guided course for beginners, or a session written for your day. With Zenvy: The daily meditation is free every day, and you get one free personalized meditation per week, no credit card required. The subscription unlocks unlimited personalized meditations. The site's comparison quiz ranks five popular apps based on your answers, with no sign-up.

What are the 3 types of AI?

The most common classification lists three levels: narrow AI, specialised in one task, general AI, which would match humans across all intellectual tasks, and superintelligence, which would surpass them everywhere. Only the first one exists today; the other two remain theoretical. Zenvy uses a narrow, generative AI specialised in writing text and synthesising speech.

What is the most effective meditation?

The one you practise regularly. The available evidence does not allow any single technique to be named as superior: guided breathing, body scan and present-moment attention each have their studies, and their effects depend mostly on regularity and on fitting the moment. The practical criterion is the one that brings you back, not the one with the best protocol on paper.

Is it good to meditate every day?

A short daily practice is usually more sustainable than a long occasional session, because habit is what lasts. Five to ten minutes is enough to start. If the daily session becomes a constraint or a source of guilt, it is better to space it out: meditation is not a treatment and should not turn into an obligation.
